Breast Casting
Women who are facing breast surgery or a mastectomy may like to have a have a breast-cast made prior to surgery. Having a cast made can be healing and therapeutic as you navigate the changes you are going through; supporting any natural grieving you may experience.
You may also wish to have a breast cast made post-surgery, to honour who and how you are now, integrating the changes you have undergone; potentially exploring a feeling of acceptance and healing.
You have the opportunity to paint or decorate the cast at a later time, in honour of your changing body.

The Casting Process
Using plaster bandages your breasts or body is layered up using plaster bandage strips (the same used for broken bones), creating a firm and strong cast. The cast is slightly rough due to the texture of the bandages, so it is then smoothed off with a plaster-fill finish.
Once it is fully dried, you can seal it and leave it in its raw state, or paint it if you wish. You may also like to have it painted or decorated by an artist.
Allow for approximately 2 – 2.5 hours for the process. Be prepared to get delightfully messy!
Pregnant Body Casting
In the comfort of your own home, I can come to you to create your pregnancy body cast. Your partner, family member or friend can also join in on the casting process, it’s a lot of fun!
Create a lasting memory of your pregnant belly; one that you can show your little one as they get older. It is also a way of honouring this precious time for yourself, and marvel at your own body’s capacity to grow a baby.

I was wanting to have a body cast done for my last pregnancy but couldn’t find anyone local who provided the offering. At the tail end of my second pregnancy I was delighted to discover Lisa was local and offered the casting service. Lisa came to my home and we had the casting completed, along with all the extra work Lisa does with the casting once its off, nailed within a morning. Lisa explained the process before she came and the whole experience was easy and comfortable....
