Benefits of Yoga - would you like to:

Become more flexible?
Relieve stress and tension?
Support healthier internal organ function?
Support the healing and stabilizing of injuries?
Increase energy and reduce fatigue?
Improve concentration and focus?
Cultivate calm and inner peace?

If your answer is YES to any of the above then you might like to start your yoga journey….

Yoga Classes are suitablefor both beginners and those with experience

You will be taught  healthy alignment principles with all  yoga postures, including the integration of your breath and body awareness. I also like to sprinkle in light-heartedness and joy as yoga can be serious business at times!

Whether you are a beginner, have injuries, or have your own unique limitations; yoga postures can be modified to suit your needs.  It is important for yoga to be a safe and enjoyable experience for you, regardless of your capacities.

Likewise if you have yoga experience, these classes can serve to deepen your practice with options given to meet your level of enquiry.

My approach to yoga and teaching....

Yoga has become a bit of a trend, and one where we can potentially push ourselves, wish we were flexible and are not, and one where ‘body-beautiful’ is a focus. I offer a safe and inclusive environment, where you can be you, with no competition or judgement and a sense of community spirit and care is cultivated.

A little of my background….
I began practicing yoga over 35 years ago, and became a yoga teacher in 2010. Yoga has carried me through many cycles of life and its timeless wisdom has held me and my body steady and well.

I began my yoga journey through the Iyengar tradition which involved detailed alignment cues and postural accuracy. Over the years, and as I have gotten older, I have been drawn to practicing yoga through the qualities of care and curiosity; releasing the western approach of ‘I have to achieve great yoga postures to be any good’.

This led me to study with Katie Lane (co-founder of Grass Roots Yoga Studio), John Friend (Anusara Yoga), and Anna De Zeuw (Pure Yoga) – all inspired, heart-centered teachers.

I teach yoga with the breath and self-kindness as a foundation for the practice, and encourage students to listen to the wisdom of their body. I  bring in sound alignment principles and a compassionate heart so that yoga is satisfying for all students at all levels.

When breath informs the postures we develop greater flow, ease, strength, flexibility and presence; yoga becomes  pleasurable and do-able!

My self-awareness enquiry began in the early 90’s when I was drawn to personal growth and self-development modalities. Between 2010 – 2020 I traveled to India and attended yearly programmes and training’s at the Oneness University (a centre for personal and spiritual development). I am a qualified  ‘Advanced Oneness Trainer’ and have developed skills to teach both mindful and feeling-based practices”.

You do not need to be flexible and you are never to old (or young) to do yoga!

“I noticed I am more calm when stressful situation arise, my flexibility has improved, (I have) learnt to look after myself and not to be too hard on myself as well, and allows me to relax, it takes me away from my busy life. Lisa teaches with a open heart that allows everyone in the room to relax and breath”. I am deeply inspired by nature. It gives of itself freely, all of the time. We do not 'pay' for the air we breathe, the water we drink, the crazy abundance that ripens on fruit trees. In return, we may feel gratitude, care, nourished. I like to offer my yoga classes this way.

I wish to teach my classes 'freely' and in return you're invited to offer what you feel is right in return. You do not need to go into debt or suffer hardship to receive what you need or want.

Throughout every season, yoga serves to balance and harmonise our body and strengthen our immune system.

Yoga and self-awareness techniques bring peace of mind and heart, enabling us to grow our resilience, flexibility and capacity of being with personal and life challenges that come our way.

"I am very fortunate to have Lisa as a yoga teacher - she is so "in tune" with what our bodies need and can benefit from. Her clear and guided instructions for the poses, meditation and relaxation exercises are very encouraging, and her feedback is always positive. Lisa has such a calming and caring nature which is infectious and for this and all the above reasons, I have no hesitation in recommending her to others"
